ABOUT     CART
First recognized for his 2013 publication Tsugi no yoru e (On to the Next Night), which captures the transience of youth cultures, Yamatani continues to explore contemporary society through diverse subjects, navigating between documentary and conceptual approaches. With Onsen I (2023) and Onsen MMXXIV (2024), he portrays collective bathing scenes across Japan, staging encounters that reveal the fragile boundaries between intimacy, ritual, and nature.
